Science-Fictions films can be very popular depending on what the film is about and what other genres may be linked to the film. For example, it a sci-fi film is also created alongside an action and adventure genre, this may appeal a large male audience. Typically, a Sci-fi film is target towards an age range of 12 - mid 20's.

A science-fiction film may gain a larger target audience if it contains a bit of romance - making it appeal to women. Sci-fi and adventure films work very well together because if the film is fictional, then there will be things in the film that are not natural, therefore the characters will have had to venture to the different places. This escapism will help attract a larger target audience.
